i recently got a brand new shakespear brutus boat multiplyer reel
used it last weekend and it was fine, not a problem
but this weekend disarster struck
i was winding in a whiting agains the current and really giving it some welly when all of a suden this happened

the handled came off in my hands
the bolt has shired it self off, i am going to give the tackel shop a ring and ask what to do, still got box with price tag on n everything and i am going back to yorkshire again at xmas so might either be able to get a replacement, money back or told to f off

if you have only just purchased the reel ben then you should get it replaced or a refund,do you still have the reciept !!!one of the lads i go fishing with bought a new rod (wont mention the make ) but it broke on his first trip so he took it back and they replaced it ,no worries...then it happened again with the replacement rod !so again he took it back ,this time im sure he got an upgrade replacement this time....so it depends on the tackle shop ..99% of them are ok..... maybe its because you are cathing mahoooosive fish ben !!

I've also had problems with Shakespear and would never buy another from them again.

well unfortunatly they dont givea reciept
all the sums are done on the back of a paper bag
but they are nice freidnly people so it shouldnt be a prob, i brought it quite awhile ago though, i guess about 3 months

within acouple of seconds i went off of shakspear completly
i ending up having to use my beach mulit (which is a shakspear) and there is somthing wronge with the model, brett had the same problem]
with the clutch on full to wind in 1lb of lead n a whiting you can hear the gears slipping over each other and ot wont wind in properly, not happy about that either
im gonna try sending off for a new part because it has a parts list

Hi Ben,

If a problem try mentioning " not fit for manufactured purpose ", legally they must replace even without manufacturers warranty.

Lets hope they're a decently friendly store and sort the problem amicably - if not why not post their name - name and shame !

nice friendly people, dont think it should be a prob, sent an email to shakspeare asing for a replaciemtn handle, if they say yes its not a problem

feel like abit of a muppet really, should have listened to every1 n got a penn
