| Ling ! Chaps, Ive got me hands on 24 very large good wreck marks out of Exmouth for having a bash at over the summer and into the early winter - I love fishing for congers on small tides at anchor - even though it not everyones cup of tea i love the scrap and effort to see them and then release ! Anyway my question is - whens the best time to target ling - Ive seen a few caught on the pollack trips but am I right in assuming its whilst fishing for conger that lings are most likely - do they take a different bait to the makeral flapper ? I gather ling can be nice to have for tea - they certainly look a lot more inviting that the old conger bonkers ............. __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |

| Re: Ling ! Hi Tommy, I've just seen this post whilst browsing before my lunch. As a general rule you will drift over a wreck for Ling with the baits as you suggested, but bottom hopping. Any large bloody smelly bait will entice them, baited Cod feathers and shads won't go amis. in fact nearly anything. Normally Conger will be caught at anchor with the same baits on the bottom.
