More Cod on 'True Blue' from Poole.

Yesterday, Tuesday 2nd November 2004, and two more Cod aboard 'True Blue' from Poole. 17lb fish to Crowthorne Angler Kevin Green who booked as a last minute Single through deepsea.co.uk and 7lb 8oz fish to local Bournemouth Angler Dave Parkinson. Photos sent to webmaster Richard. Both fish taken on good quality white frozen calimari squid presented in two's or three's on pennel rigged 6/0 hooks on 80lb clear mono 6ft to 8ft trace.
We also had some good Whiting and Pout and Dogs. This year we have seen some good Congers and Winter time brings them in off the wrecks and onto the reefs to feed up. I'm sure that you will. Preparation is the key to success and concentration on the day. We had another one yesterday, Thursday 4th November 2004, that makes three consecutive trips and four Cod in total. Latest fish of 12lb caught by local roofer Steve Blowers from Poole who booked me through Castaways Fishing Tackle in Ashley Road, Poole. He used calamari squid, pennel rigged 8/0's on 100lb clear mono trace 8ft long. 'Ammo' cuttlefish can also work well as they are a nice size for a single bait or as a squid / cuttle cocktail. We had some nice Channel Whiting as well on ragworm / mackerel cocktails on 2/0 hooks. All the best for your Cod trip. Malc, 'True Blue', Poole, Dorset.

think i will make up afew traces with 2/0 hooks on as well then, what sorta lenght should i be going for with them??
