Joining Braid to mono

Hello all, Can anyone tell me how to join 40lb dynon braid to 40lb mono line. Should I also superglue the knot as a percaution against it slipping? I have been told that superglue weakens the line is this true?

Thanks,
David.

Re: Joining Braid to mono

use a double grinner on both lines, pulled up nice and tight to give a neat knot

Re: Joining Braid to mono

Double up your braid mate, stops it slipping when pressure is put on the knot.

Cool Re: Joining Braid to mono

One little tip David when joining mono to braid..... join a piece of thicker braid to the braid on your reel first. Then join this to your mono rubbing leader. The result is.... it stops the thinner braid cutting through your mono.

Re: Joining Braid to mono

Many thanks for your tip.I would never have thought of that. Andig suggested that I "double up the Braid" before I tie the knot would this have the same effect?

From David.

Yes it would, but I like to use thicker braid.... just preference really.
