| Re: Saturday 30th October 2004 What would we think of the thoughtless skipper who took people out in bad conditions just for the money, and someone went overboard. How would this tread read then?? __________________ Kia ora / Dia dhuit. - Matauranga kei ana kaha. | Re: Saturday 30th October 2004 Also, surely better to cancel early on the basis of a forecast (which despite popular perception are generally pretty accurate) than to drag everyone there for an early start and then cancel. Fishing and weather forecasting aren't exact sciences. |

| Re: Saturday 30th October 2004 forcast on metcheck for that day was 2-3, 5 anglers had booked the day off work (all self-employed) so we phoned malcom to see if we could possibly get a later start (08.30- 10.00 depending on traffic) and he still said 'NO GO' ok i understand what some of you guys are saying about bad weather 'persons overboard' etc and i do agree with what you are saying, but we did give malcom the chance to get out that day due to the fact that the weather was good we anglers had lost a days wage and malcom also lost money. outcome: sunny day with gentle breeze 5 frustrated anglers 1 boat still at mooring __________________ Rough seas = Ground baiting |
