mini reef? just heard on the local radio statioin that a barge almost capsized off of the 'isle of wight' could possible make a mini reef ,it dropped appoox 120 tons of rocks, (which are going to be felt there) also dropped a dumper truck and a jcb digger, (these are going to be removed for enviromental reasons). all we have to do now is try to find where the rocks are ![]() __________________ Rough seas = Ground baiting

Re: mini reef? yep it wil sure make a holding ground for something. i dont know why they dont make artifical reefs in bays and coves around the uk they have done it in the states and its proven that it works. i know they did the one in cornwall not long ago but that is for divers only. __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: mini reef? well apparently they will have the funding to do things like this if the proposed licence is instated. I just dont believe them! On the same sort of lines they have granted planning permission for a load of wind turbines supported on a big concrete base 3 miles out from Porthcawl on the Welsh coast - whilst this may be a bit of an eyesore it will be interesting to see what it does to the fishing! - i think it could produce a safe haven for fish and most sea angling clubs in this area are backing the turbines because commercial netting will NOT be allowed anywhere near them - and a big structure is obviously gonna be good for fish.
