Just a thought, if you can get the boat on a trailer, why not get inside the boat sitting on the trailer with the boat cover fully fitted and have a mate spray a hose all over the boat. Using a torch see if you can see if any water is leaking in. If you have the boat sitting with the bows up any water will run back towards the back which might make it easier to see any water. I too have a 165 but no keel band or anchor locker, I too get a small, and I do mean small, amount of water into the bottom section of the hull.
