Re: frozen squid

i was a tesco fishmonger up until 3 years ago, when i left they were selling 2 types of squid, whole squid(just like you buy it in the tackle shops) and peeled squid, this had the head taken off and had been peeled,i actually used it for cutting into small strips for whitimg baits etc.

Re: frozen squid

The live mussels from tesco's and morrisons seem to be a good buy from what I can tell. £3.60 gets you far more mussel for your money than the frozen packs we get locally...its just a pain in the neck shelling them all.

I guess the price of sea baits reflects the fact it is so perishable and can not be bought by mail order or kept for future use without major specialist setups.

I'm just too used to been able to go coarse fishing one weekend and put leftover bait in the fridge/freezer for the next trip :)

You guys are just spoilt down there.

Have found a guy who supplies frozen stuff so will report back next week when I go and see him.

Cheers
