Evening anglers , well with the first trip out for ages that wasnt cancelled , we headed off aboard shogun to the needles , a lovely big spacious cat , cod was the main target but with easterly winds is wasnt looking too good , also the wind whipped up to a force 6 making it a rough day for us ,but looking forward to it never the less .
Started off with plenty of dogs all around , then the conger came on the feed so off with the squid and on with a mackeral flapper and hit into my first ever conger of just over 30 lbs , great fighting fish ............

great stuff , tried tried and tried some more to bag another one but it wasnt to be , a couple of small spotted rays were caught heres one chris caught ......................

then the whiting came on the feed and scotty bagged up on some big buggers , but me stuck with the conger as i enjoyed the fight so much !!
being such a rough day and with me usually being sea sick , i was looking a bit green on the way out , but it soon passed unlike a few others he he well scotty was green all day , but held off groundbaiting right till the end , and alladec was none too clever too heres a pic of peter who groundbaited all day long ................

a great day out but unfortunately no cod was caught at all , but i was well chuffed with my first conger !!! great boat and great skipper who also hit into a conger and let scotty fight it in cheers rob !!!!

Cracking conger lil brov, well done.....see groundbaiting at sea fishing works too

Maybe you should feed Allan and Scotty some fishy dish before you go out again next time

Re: needles 15/12/07

Well done Lee, I'll bet it was good to be out at last even if it was a touch lumpy. Nice eel mate.
