I have a trip booked for the above date. It is a 12 hour mid-channel trip aimed at targeting the cod aboard 'Southern Star', skippered by Greg Woodford out of Lymington, leaving at 6.30am. The cost is £55.00, based on 10 anglers. Due to a family bereavement, I now unexpectedly, have ONE space available on this trip. If anyone is interested in joining us, please post on here and let me know....a bit of experience (particularly in using 'hopper' rigs) would be useful, but not essential.....it is an easy enough technique to pick up on the day. Weather permitting it should be a great trip.....it is a good tide, Greg is a top skipper and it's the perfect time of year for getting some big, fat summer cod. Regards. Andy. ![]()

Re: Mid Channel Cod Trip (Lymington) 26/07/2007 I think it is a shad or a worm lure that is fished on the drift. Any other ideas?

Sorry for the delay in replying gents......have been away from the computer for a few days. 'Hopper rig' First put a 10" wrecking boom, then a bead then tie on your swivel. Attach approx 2' of 30-40lb mono and then add your chosen cod lure. I use tiger twin tails with a leadhead........deadly for cod. Obviously a suitable weight for the tide is placed on the boom. Lower the whole lot to the bottom and then hop it along as you drift. Easy. All the best. Andy. ![]()
