| Re: Beach Fishing, Help..? hi , thanks for the reply, i did manage to have a go at beach fishing, i went to deal pier and drove past that for another 3 mins, as my good friends gave me the best spot, to my amazment, i didnt have to cast far, while the tide was up, and even netted a dover sole, i was told by other fishingmen that they held the uk championship there and some lucky bugger got a 12lb BASS to win the comp.. but one for sure, i be back next summer and do a bbq in the beach, been told to visit dungerness, up with the tent, and fish all nite. merry xmas to all..... |

| Re: Beach Fishing, Help..? well where do i start, you started on a very good venue,i have a great respect for the addy,i have fished it off and on for 40 years and had some tremendous catches,it is the perfect venue for learning your skills in my opinion because you have a comfortable venue with deep water right in front of you without having the worry of having to cast very far,so my initial advice would be to stick with the addy and gain experience, having said that you can't beat a bit of beach fishing and you have done well so far, gravesend and deal beaches are good ,dungeness is better,it is unique, deep water close in and some very good fishing, you said about up with the tent and fish all night,i have fished there hundreds of times and seen many people camp on there for 12 hours or more. my personal opinion is to not do that,i would much sooner get there 3 or 4 hours before the tide fish it up and fish it down then go home to your nice warm bed, it can be a very productive place to fish without being bothered by any other beach users ,this time of year you are sure to get whiting and maybe codling and the dabs at dungie always oblige hope you have some success wherever you go mate, don't be afraid to ask if you have any more queries |
