| Re: any advice for folkestone area????? hi chris, keep an eye on the weather forecast,i think its going to be nasty this weekend if thats the case and its the usual south westerly your best bet will be the prince of wales pier in dover, its a nice sheltered venue in weather such as that with the added bonus of a caff on the end. you face the north when you fish on there and it is fishing quite well at the moment |

| Re: any advice for folkestone area????? The Prince of Wales is a good shout. It's been fishing relatively well for the lst few weeks & whilst you won't get anything big, there are plenty of fish to be going after. Baits can be obtained from numerous shops in Snargate Street, you'll need between a 5 or 6oz lead, best rig is a one uo one down or a simple 2 or 3 flapper. A lot of people fish by the kink with the shelters, I prefer mid point up towards the latter end so that I dont have to walk too far to the cafe (recomend bacon sarnies). Be carefull when you cast as there are generally lots of people walking by. Pier is open 8am to 4:30pm. Quote:

| Re: any advice for folkestone area????? If you can get out this weekend i would suggest the north kent coast (Reculver/Herne Bay/Minnis Bay). You'll get plenty of shelter there on the South Westerly winds forecast and theres plenty of whiting to keep you occupied and whatever else may still be around. I fished Grenham Bay last week when it was a bit blowy (20 mph sw) and it was nicely sheltered and with the wind coming from behind you (left shoulder) did'nt hamper casting at all. |
