DevonDave

As a bit of an expert on mullett fishing and living in S Devon can you recommend the best places in the area to try mullett fishing? Hoping to go to Portishead marina this weekend as a trial then back to South Devon the 2 weeks the weekend after that so any advice would be welcome.

Re: DevonDave

Expert! hah who told you that one? lol
yes i know a bit about them basically just fish as light as you feel comfortable
and when possible to see the fish watch to see if they shy away from the bait when they do this people think they are not feeding properly.
This isnt the case the fish are feeding properly but you have either your hook showing wrong colour or thickness of line so they can see the line just remember they are a very very shy fish but once feeding they will feed as hard as any fish you just have to watch them learn where your going wrong and adapt until you start picking up the fish.

if your down in south devon let me know if you can come upto torquay and i dont mind you joining me down the harbour for a session to see if we can pick a couple or three up :)

p.s. my definition of an expert

ex = has been
spurt = small dribble under pressure!

lol

Re: DevonDave

Cheers Dave, I'll try to talk the wife into spending the day in Torquay and if I can will join you in the harbour. Hoping to try Portishead for a few on Saturday if I can get a new rod. May borrow my brother-in-laws course rod, should be up to the task.
