| exmouth docks I have been meaning to do this post for a while so eventually took camera for a few snaps this is where i spend far too much time, its great for all the minispecies, also makkie, mullet?(iff they come out of marina), pollock, garfish, wrasse and bass the dock is at the end of the prom at exmouth and the fishable bit is the old platform that sticks out, you cannot fish inside the new marina bit looking up river ![]() down river out to sea ![]() there is quite a rip tide through here on the springs so best fishing is usually 1 hour either side top , or on the neaps this is my top wrasse area ![]() and this is other best area to get if can ![]() they are building a big fence at dock entrance(just behind white van in next picture) but can get round at moment car park is always busy (as cheapest along front)in summer but goes quieter at night(although ticket man never seems to sleep) also gets very busy with tinsel flingers in summer and lots of dads take their kids there(is actually a great place to take kids, apart from open dock side), but time it right and you can have the place to yourself ![]() best baits are ragworm or makkie for the pollock and wrasse spinning and reathering can be good for the makkie/gar/pollock and bass if bottom fishing here expect to lose gear here as very snaggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or fish light 1oz weight and let the weight bobble down the tide, or with float hope this helps people dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go...and if you do go please let us know :D |

| Re: exmouth docks Nice one Dave - the pictures are spot on - when the suns out its a bloody lovely view from there isnt it. Our boat is over towards Starcross by the old wreck so we look back at Exmouth from a few hundred yards and its great eh. Gets better all the time - nice new bar on the dockside ( even though its expensive ) and the cafe is wicked for grub - always grab a cuppa and bacon sandwich before shooting off. Hope to live down your way in the next 12 months so will look forward to joining you for a few good sessions of wrasse and pollack ! __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |
