where to dig maddies?

could any of you people help me out here. i'm looking for somewhere to dig maddies in the kent area?

the few places i know are not producing at the mo (the worms that are there are very small, in small numbers and not great quality) or the access has been taken away.

i was wondering if folkestone harbour, herne bay or whitstable harbour hold any maddies. or if anybody knows how i can get to the bait beds in the stour.

any help would really be appreciated. cheers in advance.

Re: where to dig maddies?

it's a small variety of ragworm, usually fished in bunches. an excellent bait for flatties and can always trow up a few suprises, i've had dogs, codling, whiting, and even an angler fish on them.

they're also known as mud rag and harbour rag.
