| Hi fellow anglers, Do I guess from the lack of replies that nobody fishes in Hastings .Surely someone online must have been there, even if just for an ice cream and a stick of rock?? Any information would be gratefully recieved Pheonix __________________ ......Where's my beginners luck then? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ LOL...¸.·´¯`·.¸.·´¯` |>< ((( "><" )) >< ¸.·´¯`·.¸ |

| Re: Hastings Beach Although I live locally and even work in St.Leonards, I have never been fishing in Hastings, the car parks in the old town are expensive and I do not feel comfortable about parking my car in other areas along the sea front, even during daylight! I do however fish Bexhill, Pevency and Eastbourne, although I personally have not had much success, I know people have been catching Bass, Whitting, Pouting, poor cod and codlings. Oh and I did catch a small skate a few weeks ago. Steve. |

| Re: Hastings Beach Cheers Steve_640 and Fishypaul It's a bit like buses, '... you wait for ages for a reply then you get two in a row' ... LOL Anway, I have been to St Leonards last Saturday (18th Nov' 05), the location was convenient parking oposite the church 30 yards from the sea. The parking was £3:00 for 5 hours which I thought reasonable for three to fish an afternoon off the beach. I went with my daughter and middle son, as he has recently purchased a rod and I gave him a reel which he wanted to try out. The Tide was High when we arrived and we fished it going out,the sea was as flat as a 'mill pond' and the sun was bright (-very). We used yellows, frozen squid and sand eels as bait. Two rods fished the shallow side of the groynes and one the deeper side. Between us we caught absolutely nothing, but had a great day out and lunch on the beach. It would have been nice for my son to have christen his new rod though, but maybe next time Anyway here are some pic's of our day: My son Casting into The Sinking Sun My Daughter hurling the bait out to sea The end of the day.... | Re: Hastings Beach I have never had much luck fishing this area when the sea is calm, and when I had the opporunity to go on fishing on Sunday, knowing how calm it was, I didn't even bother going, instead I just took the kids down to the beach to throw some stone into the water etc. However when I got there and saw how calm and clear the water was, I wished that I had taken my spinning rod. | Re: Hastings Beach Hi - I fished Hastings once this year off the pier - £4.50 per rod but that does cover you up to closing which I believe is either 10pm or 11pm. Unfortnately we completely blanked but didn't see any of the other 20 or so anglers catch anything either. Apparently bass are caught off the pier but not that day. Anyway it was a nice sunny day and they've got nice blue & white striped deck chairs on the pier to sit in. Steve's tackle is just across from the pier and is good for bait. He's open on Sunday morning. Vlad who posts on this forum often fishes Hastings pier and usually catches a variety of stuff. Try doing a search on "Hastings" and you should find some of his posts. Steve's Tackle number is 01424 433404. You could also try East Hastings Sea Angling Association. Their clubhouse and boatyard are at the east end of town near the council carparks and right next to that green worm thing that goes through the hole in the apple. They have their own club boats which members can go fishing in. Angling membership is £40 per year. Haven't fished the beach yet but will probably try to do some spinning round the groins and pier supports next time I'm down there. Hope this is of some help. |
