Re: deal or dover? hmmmmmmmmmmm???

Hi mate,

Haven't fished Deal for a while - but did pop down Samphire Hoe in Dover last week - and it was fishing OK - particularly as night started to fall.

There's plenty of Mackeral there during the day - and once dusk came we started to get plenty of bites on our floats. One Bass of about 2.5lbs came up, caught on frozen sandeel, and a few really good bites were missed.

I've heard of a lot of Bass coming from Dover, so no harm in giving that a go, not sure about anything else, as I think everyone's gone mad on Bassing!

As for Deal, I have heard that the Dover Sole are in - best baits rag and lug, fished at fairly short range at the North End. Still a chance of something else there too.

Perhaps someone else has fished Deal more recently - the pier was fishing well with Smuts, Doggies and the odd ray and bass coming up, but I haven't had a chance to try it since my wedding.. must try and get back there next week.

What venues were you thinking of/ do you normally fish?

Sorry it's all a bit a vague...

Cheers,
JB.
