Advice Please

It has been a while since I have been beach fishing so while Im not a beginner I am just struggling to remember a couple of the basics.

I will put 15lb line on my reel and then from what I remember I then put some thicker line on (shock leader?) and then attach a rig?

Questions:
-----------

How do I join the 15lb to the stronger line? A knot or a piece of equipment?

How do I join the rig to the line? A knot or a piece of equipment?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can talk me through this.

Best Regards,

Welcome to the fishing forum

How do I join the 15lb to the stronger line? A knot or a piece of equipment?

Well this knot is great >> Albright Fishing Knot

Shockleaders should be 4oz of lead = 40lb ; and so on

How do I join the rig to the line? A knot or a piece of equipment?

Well this knot is great >> Fishing Knot for general swivels ect The best thing to us to connect your mainline to your rigs is a clip as then its easy to unclip your rigs

Re: Advice Please

I use a Gemini Genie Rig link on the end of my shock leader, as it can be threaded though the rod eyes which means I do not need to remove it to break the rod down at the end of a session. If your trace does not have a swivel connected to the main line end, then you should add one between the trace and the shockleader.

Steve.
