HOOKED is on a distinguished road
Are they wasting their time, quick question?

Hi,
Sorry for posting this twice but I thought it was better suited to this forum! I know a few people hoping to fish Deal Pier this week. They are under the impression that because it's a quarter of a mile long it will fish no matter what the tide is, I have a feeling they will blank, do I waste my time going or stay indoors and go to bed? Any help would be very much appreciated!

If you think you are going to blank then you probably will.
Think positive. You can catch fish at all stages of the tide. Some stages are better than others and different species move to different areas during the tide.
Read up on what is being caught and what bait is being used. I am pretty sure that even though I have never fished Deal Pier I could go there and not blank.

Excellent thanks a lot, I know that there is always a chance of catching if you've got bait in the water but as I rarely have time to go nowadays and am takng the day off I'd rather make sure it's worth it! Sounds good anyway, I'll be pleased with an eel and nothing else!! Got some lug on order from Channel Angling and will pick some squid and mackerel up too. What rig did you fish, I usually go for a running paternoster but have never fished Deal before?
