Re: best line for multiplier's ?

i use 18lb mono with mine mate as braid can be a NIGHTMARE if you get a birdsnest and is a lot more expensive.

Re: best line for multiplier's ?

12lb mono for me with a 60lb Daiwa tapered shock leader. I only use braid on my boat reels.

Re: best line for multiplier's ?

Why would I want to go bigger? 12lb will still land me a 20-25lb fish and has a smaller diameter so the tide has less influence on my line, which means I can use lighter weights, which means more comfortable casting. If I'm fishing in very rough ground then I'll up it to 20lb, but never any more.

The chances of landing a fish bigger than that from the beach is low anyway.
