| Well if one person going fishing for a couple of hours and waiting for no one to turn up can be considered a meet then the day was a roaring success. I fished on my own from 1230 until 3 and no one turned up so I went for a swim. I caught a few wrasse but it was too hot to be out in the sun. I won't be organising any more events as I may as well just go fishihing on my own. Jon __________________ Portland Jon Anyone can catch 'em when they are there. | Re: Portland Meet Report Hi Portland Jon, I can see from the lack of replys to your post that there must be a lot of red faces on the Forum. It is the same when we organise a charter trip, we have to take a deposit when the trip is booked and then ask for the full payment at least two weeks before the trip. It is the only way that it can be done. I hope that more members will apologise, if not name and shame. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold |

| Hi John, I did post my apologies and said that I would not be able to make the meet as I had a Boat Competition. But I would have expected others to have done the same if they could not go, it is just manners after all. __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. | Re: Portland Meet Report Hi John. I did come down at just after 12 and wandered round the cafe. I did'nt see any sign of you. I forgot to bring your mobile number to give you a call. I had a go in the harbour and managed a few Wrasse and a small Bass. Sorry I missed you. |

| Re: Portland Meet Report No Problem Sean, I waited at the cafe until 1220 then went to Pultit for a few wrasse. I think Carlton came down but he didn't recognise me. Several members PM'd me to say they couldn't come and it was really too hot to be enjoyable so I went for a snorkel about 1500. At least I caught a few wrasse. Sean, let me know when you are going out fishing as I would like to come along if that's ok. Jon Quote:

| Re: Portland Meet Report Hello John. I came over at about 12:10. From the holiday park. See alot of people fishing from that high rock. Where people were sitting on top of the large rock. Quite afew people fishing those marks. Did'nt know any of them though. Looked around for you mate but couldn't see you. So i rang Ritchard, See if i had the right mark which i had. I left about 25 to 1. Sorry i couldn't meet up with you mate. I didn't have you mob number to contact you, to tell you i was there. Looked a great mark to fish. Thanks anyway mate. __________________ Cheers. .Carlton. Tight lines everyone. |

| Re: Portland Meet Report Unfortunately it isn't the first time this has happened with a forum meet as I know to my cost. Still, at least you got some fishing in yourself. It would be common courtesy for anyone who says they will go to let others know when they find out they can't especially with a trip that has been organised for as long as this one had been. |
