Saltwalter Fishing Pier

Hello,
My friend is taking me saltwater fishing at a local pier, I never been saltwater fishing before in mylife. I been freshwater I know how that works. I went to walmart, to get a saltwater fishing pole, weight, hooks, those swivel looking thingy's with the braided line on em. I was given help by a guy that was in right place at the right time. He helped me alot to get what I needed for later today fishing deal. What should I espect to happen?

Hi

First what part of the world are you fishing - the reson I ask is that you mentioned saltwater fishing pole - which normally means the states or Austrialia

The kit you have seems fine for light pier or jetty work

Hi

Basically with the type of kit you have you will be after smaller fish that will be along the side of the pier / jetty

Fishing will be the same as you freshwater fish - think light and small baits

Well the plan's got changed at the last minute, the guy backed out I didnt get to go saltwater fishing. I guess im going tommrow

I went fishing around 9pm (saturday) and I caught 1lb catfish, off of a shrimp, and my friend that took me saltwater fishing, he had all the good luck, he caught 2 white head's (keepers) 2 catfish, 1 crab, off of a shrimp and squid. This is the most fun I ever had in my life! :grin:
