| Re: rotten bottom tips please! Tie a simple overhand knot in the snood which creates a weak point - the snood will snap here first when you pull for a break so you will only loose a hook and easy to change the shood over. (It wont break with a fish on - trust me !) __________________ SUPPORT THE RNLI - click : www.rnli.org.uk ... every little helps ! PLEASE REMEMBER & GIVE A LITTLE .... http://www.poppy.org.uk/ |

| Re: rotten bottom tips please! i use gemini links with a bait holder clip.- tie lead to a weak link of line and the other end the the hole in the link then tie the link to the end of your rig upsidedown by the u bend where the lead usually sits. hang the lead hoop on the bait clip for casting , ok for most forms of casting unless u knock the lead off the clip at the start of the cast hence gentle pendulums or other styles where the lead doesn't start on the ground best. __________________ 2008, sessions..24 total blanks..3 species,..20 its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him. |

| Re: rotten bottom tips please! I use spark plugs for weights on a weak link with a release clip. They work great for me and I have loads of 'em as I have a friendly mechanic who saves them for me. | Re: rotten bottom tips please! PVA string also works very well and is cheaper than genie clips. Just tie the weight on with it and use a length of 10lb line as a weak link. The PVA will dissolve in the water and the weight will come back on the light line or if snagged the weak link will part leaving the weight behind.
