Match fishing tips

Does anyone have any tips for match fishing? Rigs, bait enhancers, fish one rod or two etc. I have decided to throw caution to the wind and enter a club match on Saturday. Points are awarded per species caught and not on weight.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers Gus,

It is shore, yes. I'll tap that vast knowledge of yours on the 23rd as I plan to compete in the club boat comps too.

Re: Match fishing tips

Only the simple stuff like if the fishing is fast and at distance use a fixed spool and long rod! get to your peg early and maybe mark you line by casting out and winding in feeling for rocks and sand! have two rods set up but only one with a rig on cause we arnt aloud to have to rods riged up incase we cheat!! you will need two or three rigs baited up i use three but thats up to you! if if you catch unclip the rig reclip the next and cast out before taking the fish off! doesnt sound nice to leave the fish on the hook but its not for long is it? if you need to have your fish signed in take a pen and a clipboard comes in handy to!

Hope some of this was helpfull to you and i hope you do well if you fish it mate!

Good Luck
