Re: Mulitplier question...again get yourself a softer rod to learn with the multiplyer it will be more forgiving if mistakes happen.also make sure you keep the mags full on ,not worth knocking them off to try gain a few yards not worth the hassle

Re: Mulitplier question...again I just showed a mate how to use one and he did a perfect cast then took his thumb off the spool without re-engaging the cast. Birdie big time. After a bit of practice though he was managing 40-50 metres. The key to this is the thumb, when I cast my thumb is lightly on the spool all the time. It soon becomes second nature though its worth having a spare in the bag just in case. __________________ Shut up and play yer guitar....

Re: Mulitplier question...again Hi Les, A spare thumb! where did you get it? After a days fishing I could do with one. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold

Re: Mulitplier question...again When I started to use a 525 Mag I was getting birdsnests regular, couldn't seem to get enough magnetic brake as the lead was nearing the water, even though I had no problems at all on my old Daiwa MagForce. It turned out that the line on the new reel was much thinner for the same BS than the old line on the MagForce, the diameter of the reel wasn't reducing enough to spin the reel faster - ie more magnetic brake - at the end of the cast. Switch to IronSilk - problem solved. Took me ages to find this out. In short - use cheap thick line to learn with, leave the ultra thin stuff for fixed spools. __________________ Blessed are the Cheese Makers......
