Re: Mulitplier question...again

you got to get used to using your reel, then you will be able to tell by the noise it makes as it is releasing, soon you will be able to tell it is slowing and it will come natural to know when to thumb the spool.

Very true mate also try tightening the spool up slightly...not much just enough so you got more to play with! and another thing i notice down my way is the fish are closer in at night so no need to hit it as hard as you normally do!!

Ollie.

Hope your new reel suits ya Dan and dont give up if you start getting birdies...just play around with the spool and breaks and that and your soon get the hang of it

Wot i do also cos i am a bit of a wimp is cut a bit of old bike innertube to fit yer thumb, this gives good grip and also stops burns on yer thumb if that shockleader knot gets in the way. lol

you don't have to be a wimp,i have cast with a multiplyer for years and still use a"thumbie" stops the line slipping when wet,i also have small hands and this gives better grip

Re: Mulitplier question...again

The key to casting with a multiplier is rythem. if you can get the tempo right the cast seems really smooth and you dont get that wrench feeling.
