Question Portland Bill sea fishing rigs and tactics

Portland Bill sea fishing rigs and tactics - Well with the date set at 10 July for the Portland bill fishing trip meet , I was wondering what would be the best rigs / tactics to use

Any ideas

Richard, I've done a bit of research, and it seems that having a moustache and a bobble hat (and some funky yellow trousers) is essential

It looks like it may be compulsory to be a scouser too!!

I've found some archive pictures of famous local fishermen (I just hope I'm not the only one old enough to remember the programme ):

Hope this helps, mate.

Sorry - couldn't resist it!!

Cheers,
JB.

Re: Portland Bill sea fishing rigs and tactics

Has to be float fished rag worm for the Wrasse unless you are happy to fish with a rotten bottom and be prepaired to loose a lot of lead. Best bait again is ragworm or hermit crab to target the bigger fish.
For the Bass, float fished Sandeel can often be effective, but my favourite is to fish with plugs and lures. I will keep you up to date on latest catches as they come in.
