I live less than a mile from the bill and tents in the garden wouldnt be a problem. They are a bit fussy about people camping at the bill but it should be warm so a fishing shelter and an air bed would be ok.

Hey Guys, I'll be there. My neck of the woods, so would be rude not to join in and catch a few stonkers...

Re: Portland Meet Anyone????

Hi Portland Jon,

Can I bring my motorhome? Is there somewhere to park it near to our fishing area or near to your Beach Hut or where ever. I can find somewhere to park overnight, I only require a car park for the day (No Charge!!!)

Cheers

Drew

Jim

The closest motorhome parking is at the Ferry Bridge Inn, just as you go onto the causway. the bus picks up there and goes to the bill. See below. there is B&B on the island for about £25 a night.

As for the fishing, there should be plenty of Wrasse and hopefully the odd Bass. I have never fished the bill for Bass and have only ever caught one. Bring plenty of spark plugs and rotten bottom gear if you are going for the Wrasse and fish near to Pulpit rock in the deep water with 30lb main line and Wrag. There should be the odd Polack to deep spun sand eel and everything from Bass and Wrasse to Garfish on light float gear. I see plenty when I am snorkelling there.

Jon

Ferrybridge Inn

Nearest place to Paracademy. Good food and lets campers park up overnight usually for free if you are on a course with us. They have single and double rooms, prices are with or without breakfast. We are open between January & December

Prices from £19.50 to £25

Our address is;

262 Portland Road
Weymouth
Dorset DT4 9AF
UK

Parking available

Re: Portland Meet Anyone ????

Hi John.

Looks like I will be able to get away with not working on the Sunday, so I will join in the fun. If there is anything that you need just let me know. I have a spare BBQ that I can bring down if you like. I can get the charcoal from the shop as well.

Sean.

Re: Portland Meet Anyone ????

We will take a gas bbq as it's less messy and the area is an SSSI so a charcoal one might be a problem. People will need to bring thier own food and beer etc. I am planning to have the bbq on the ledges near to the beach hut by red crane.
