Hi all, looking to maybe getting a multiplier reel, as they seem so much better than fs reels. A few questions; 1. Can you fit a mulitplier reel to any rod, or are there specific fs rods, multi rods? 2. Is loading line easy? 3. If I was to need a new rod, I'd like 1 around 12ft, but not so stiff as the beachcasters we use at the moment, as I think it really limits my casting. What sort of rod would you recommend? Something that actually bends when there's a 5oz weight on ![]() Thanks for any answers __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Multiplier reel, questions! Hi Norfolkboy, You will need to look at the left handed models from Abu. I can't comment on these models as I have never seen them: 6501 C3 LH £85 - 5501 C3 LH £84. With multipliers, if you are left handed you would wind in with your left hand. The opposite of fixed spool. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold

Re: Multiplier reel, questions! Thanks Drew. I wind in with my left hand on a fixed spool, is that known as a right handed reel then, or have I got confused ![]() Those reels seem a bit expensive though, was only hoping for a cheapish one to get me started __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Multiplier reel, questions! Thanks Dave, was thinking that. Do they handle casting 5oz leads, like a normal beachcaster, or do you have to go lighter tackle? __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Multiplier reel, questions! Hi Norfolkboy, I wind a fixed spool with my right hand although I am right handed. It seems natural to me, however, right handed people tend to wind with their left hand. As I have said with a multiplier it is the opposite, the handle is on the RHS of the reel faceing upwards. I hope this makes sense. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold

Re: Multiplier reel, questions! Oh dear, I'm confused ![]() If I wanted to reel in with my left hand on a multi, that would be classed as a LH reel, or a RH reel? Thanks __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>
