West Bexington Chesil Beach fishing - A quicky report

Well my day started at 5.30am and with a coffee in my stomach I set off in what was a lovely morning

Got down there West Bexington (Chesil Beach) at about 9am at the same time as Rob M . We had a quick chat in the car park and then set off to find birthday boy Ping and the others

Finding them in the allocated spot we setup and dreams of great fish started to fill my mind. The weather had started to turn and was over cast and south wind

I was fishing one rod on a three hook scratch rig – two up one down. The other two down clip rig, all on rag worm

The others were doing roughly the same plus crab mackerel ECT

So as the hours went on the weather got even worse and now was blowing quiet strong making distance casting a problem

At 12 it was time for some now famous ping pie washed down with a cheeky red wine

So now I had been feed and watered I started to try harder even thought the rain and wind were getting stronger and stronger

Eventually caught a fish and a hermit crab on the same rig, what was it? To tell you the truth I’m not sure as it was so small and the hermit crab put up a much better fight

Well with the rain and wind getting worse I decided to call it a day at 2.30 . But good news as I was packing up TJ got a nice flounder and Portland Jon got a rockling

I had a great day out and it was great to meet new and old forum friends. OK the fishing was hard and wet but hay that’s life

Although the weather was against us it didnt dampen our spirits. It was geat to put faces to names. Looking forward to the pictures and another meet.

Just a quick question to richard, have u got a beach buddy yet? Its awfully wet and cold with out one!!!

It was a great day for me and I got to eat one of the famous Pingu Pies! It was great to meet everyone, its a shame we were all so spread out, but the conditions determined that. Like Richard said, the weather got progressively worse, wind and rain in our faces and it was cold. I blanked, but I love getting out so enjoyed it anyway. And now I can say I've fished the famous Chesil Beach. The only downside was driving a total of 300 miles in a day, I'm knackered! Thanks to Pingu for the casting advice, cheers bud, have a great evening!

As I always say, it’s all about meeting people off this great forum. To me the catching comes second. I do trust there was the usual p**s taking and banter.

I must say that there were a few moments I was there with you guys. I was stuffing an egg and sausage roll bought from the beach café where I was working. I thought to myself, those daft sods are sat on the other side of Lyme Bay eating Pingu Pies whilst I’m sat here in the rain doing the same!!

Wish I was there with you all……..sniff sniff.

Yes he can but me thinks he will be on his third or fifth pint by now
