| Re: Sea fishing Aberdeen Scotland Hi mate, dont know how far from Aberdeen you want to travel but i used to fish around the Portlethen area about 8 miles south of Aberdeen. Down through the village and head to the left of the steep cove with the boat winch. Fished on the rocks between there and if memory serves me right an old ice factory a bit further north. Baits were big made up of mussels/lug/peeler crab and picked up a few cod on whole squid. Biggest i had was about 7lb but know of a few doubles that were caught there and a few decent pollack. Also seen one wolfish/catfish caught there, ugly looking bugger. Believe it or not i fished there on a flat calm sunny day once and had the great privilege of seeing a Killer whale leap out the water, couldnt believe my eyes at first and it came flying out a second time.Apparently they chase the mackerel shoals there at certain time of year. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger |

| Re: Sea fishing Aberdeen Scotland Not sure what gear you use mate but my preference was for a medium/heavy beachcaster and a reel capable of holding a decent amount of 35lb mono straight through as long casts were not required. Rotten bottom rigs with big single hooks or pennels would be the norm depending on the bait you choose. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger |
