| multiplier reel advice needed please Hi all, When I started fishing in September I got myself 2 rods and fixed spool reels which were on a budget. Now that I have found that 1. I like fishing :-) and 2 sort of know what I am doing most of the time I am thinking of upgrading my gear and start using multipliers. I have looked on the net about this but really can't seem to find and answer to my questions, so I have come here where I hope my experienced fellow fishermen will give some solid advice as usual. Q1: What is the difference between a casting multiplier and a baitcasting multiplier??? Q2: Is it so that with a multiplier you can generally cast further then with a fixed spool??? Thanks for the good advice in advance. Regards, Peter __________________ The difference between knowledge and skill is practice. ![]() In general terms ,you can cast further easier with a good multiplier ,as compared to a fixed spool ,as the line resistance involved is greatly decreased with a multiplier ,over long distances ...... __________________ Mike..
