| Re: Reels If you can double your budget you should be able to find something decent on Ebay, either a second hand Penn or Daiwa or if you prefer new the Okuma Magnetix can be had for around £60. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Okuma-Magn...item8bb450596a Just don't think you will be saving money by buying cheap gear - because you wont - there is a reason why cheap tackle is "cheap" - cheap equals KRAP!!!!!! Those reels you see advertised for £20 to £30 new will be lucky to last a year and certainly won't last a lifetime The sea air and saltwater soon eat their way through the poor quality materials used to manufacture cheap reels.I know as a newcomer you want to get all the gear as soon as possible - we all felt the same - but I my day we didn't have the benefit of internet forums,so we had to learn the hard (expensive) way ![]() Do yourself a favour, keep hold of your money until you've had a chance to look around at what's on offer and what would be suitable for you - then buy the best you can afford. Whatever you do - don't be afraid to come on here and ask questions - even if they do seem stupid - the only truly stupid question is the one you're too stupid to ask! ![]() ![]() |

| Re: Reels Thank you little fish that was a big help and also been looking around and reading that it is worth to save, shame i started fishing a month before xmas lol oh well Anyway id been rooting around the shed as everything i have is/was my dads and only had two crapy reels, one of wich is broken so thats why i was in the market, but iv taken some photos of my rod and reels luckly iv found a good working order one if some one can tell me about it iv had a quick play with it, it dose have a break system and a high gear ratio, and looks like one i was looking to buy so happy days. This is what i found ![]() This is my other 2, the big one is broke wont lock so can real in and out and not just in. Abu rod 10ft beachcaster i love it really nice to play with, also have a spinning rod but dad choped 2ft of it to use as a boat rod lol Also can someone tell me the difference between baitcaster and multiplier reels? Was looking at the ABU Garcia Ambassadeur Blue and the ABU SILVER MAX both bait casters what is there role as i maily peir fish at the moment and reading some reviews the silver maxs sounds really good for the money (£45) Cheers and sorry for the huge pictures |

| Re: Reels The first reel is a Mitchell 624, a great boat reel in its day ,no good for brachcasting at all . The third reel looks useable of the beach ( if you can fix it ) ,get that on your ABU beachcaster and your away ...... Baitcasters are generally ,small multipliers for casting light lures...... __________________ Mike..
