Re: anybody fished lepe?

Fished it a lot last summer.
Best spot to head for is the concrete wall, if you drive right to the end of the car park and keep walking past a pylon on the beach you will see the old wall/path, this is the deeper area, should start to see some nice plaice and bass soon.
Tides can be a bit fierce here.
Another bass spot is the other way from the car park you will see a slipway this area is a good spinning spot for bass.
Had 32 black bream from the wall in the summer in between the groynes.
Watch out for the closing times of the car park as they will lock you in as i found out.
Also the area at the car park the tide goes right out and becomes unfishable as i also found out.
Usual baits and rigs.

Solent Fisher is on a distinguished road
Re: anybody fished lepe?

Hi,

I fished Lepe after reading about the venue in the solent-Fishing-Guide.co.uk as it looked like a nice change from my local Gosport Marks. It was a nice beach but I blanked when targeting plaice during the day about 2 weekends ago. Daylight plaice fishing is very hard nowadays regardless of where you go and the conditions have to be perfect - sunny, clear water and flat calm. Car parking was expensive and the beach was a little shallow and weedy. I walked about 1/2 mile west after parking in the main carpark (£5 for day) where I cast 80/100 yards into a deep channel. I met a local women fishing and she was using coarse gear in the shallow water and tells me she catches small bass here ocasionally.

I didnt check out the east side of the beach, maybe I should have done.

Cheers,
James
