new to fishing

i am looking to take up sea fishing/beech casting what do i need to get started in total ie.what type of rod reel and the likes i will be fishing the gower in s wales any advice thanks very much

my advise (for what its worth)is that if you are serious about fishing go as expensive as you can afford most tackle shops will do a starter kit( so can start from arround £30 if you wanted, but if you get hooked you will want too upgrade sooner than you think) or they will at least match a rod and reel together for you, adds in the back of papers can be a cheap option but take someone who knows about tackle with you if you go this route so as you dont get rubbish
next is wether fixed spool or multiplier? i'll leave that too you
there have been other such threads on here do a search and you should find loads of ideas

thanks dave being into all sports i realise cheap is'nt always best (learn't that from her indoors)but probably to start free adds my mate is a regular boat fishing nutt so i'l probably see him hopefully he may have some gear for me to borrow to see how i get on first cheers

aberdare tommy,but will probably be fishing mumbles swansea and that way may be open to pennarth and the likes i was in tutshill last week not far from you
