fishing in cornwall

Anyone been fishing in Hayle, Cornwall? Am taking my granchildren end of August and wondering if there is any good spots to fish.

Hi Bruno

Might be worth making the short journey from Hayle over to Penzance harbour with your grandchildren. Easy place for them to put a float out, best on an evening high tide usually plenty small pollack and a few mackie on sandeel or squid strip.
Worm baits will pick up small wrasse around the harbour walls. Can get a bit busy in summer on the lighthouse pier, the Albert pier nearest the bus station is usually a bit quieter.
I had a small corkwing 1 flounder and an eel all on ragworm there last week.
