| Does line colour matter? Hi, I've just been given a spool of braid that is hi-viz yellow, I am a bit concerned if this would spook fish or not. I was going to use it from the beach at Southend and possibly from the beach in Norfolk, two completely different conditions, one being a bit muddy and the other much clearer. Also I have some red coloured line and I was told that red disappears under water so would this be a good line for the clearer water in Norfolk? And advice would be gratefully received. Keep your rod bent, Robs. ![]() |

| Re: Does line colour matter? had a similar conversation with a guy at the lake yesterday, i have used bright yellow line for years both in my traces and hooklengths, i really dont think it makes a difference in the sea,in freshwater i would not use it, as for red disappearing underwater,i dont know about this, why then do red maggots have such an appeal ? if red things disappeared underwater surely the fish wouldnt be able to see them ![]() |
