Shore Fishing in Kent

Dear All

I have never been shore fishing but am very interested to give it a go.

I live in SE London so I would imagine the closest place would be the South Kent Coast or East Sussex.

Coukd anyone point me in the right direction and recommend som good spots, preferably beach rather than piers.

Can you also recommend a good starter kit for beach fishing or some basic equipment I might need.

Many thanks...

Re: Shore Fishing in Kent

Good luck... first time can be a difficult experience when starting shore fishing i started no experience no tutors, just read stuff and adapted over time, recommend a rod stand sounds simple but necessary from shore work.
have 2 rigs 1 baited ready whilst one is soaking so when brung in quick clip change then rig ready to go back out then re bait previous rig.
Night fishes better than day in my experience but they may differ for some?
obviously equipment for night "lighting" and dont have to try supercasting for distance.
Baits, Always have a supply of ragworm, try differnt baits and try understanding rig crafts and fish feeding behaviours, take standard weights and breakout weights.
Fit shockleader and dont be afraid to test your abilitys when distance casting is required.
And most of all Enjoy the time you have.
