Either go into veals tackle shop in Brizzol and ask them to kit you out or visit the shop in West Bay where they will do the same .
12-14 foot rod
Fixed spool reel
18lb mainline
60 lb shockleader
half dozen sets of mackerel lures ( not feathers - they are crap )
half a dozen ( more if your poor at casting ) 5 ounce leads
pack of lead links - NEVER tie the lead direct to the end of the ready made rigs as the lead is bound to end up either 300 foot over the horizon or worse, over someones nut and a resulting painful death

the bits and bobs you will get for a tenner - the mainline for about 7.50 - dont get cheap kit - its not worth saving 3 squid
that will leave you enough for a tidy rod and reel combo and try and get a good deal on a 6 foot tripod while you are there - beg if need be to get a good deal ..
good luck
DRAT, i bought feathers.

I may need to get another line or evel reel by the sounds too.

I only have my 12lb line on the 12ft carp rod i got.

One question, do trout/pike lures work for Mackerel and the like? Ive seen some Mackerel lures and they dont seem to look too dissimilar to the ones i have.

Guessing ill also need to lengthen the line between the float and lure/bait considerably and use heavy shot?

Pier or rock fishing to start, just remembered ill need sea floats too.

How am i looking?
