| Estuary fishing its me again begging tips and info,me and my mate have been on a spree looking for places to fish, where gonna go beech fishing as soon as we get some decent weather but we also wanna go fishing the estuary as the river flows into the sea (ish). The part were going too is the river douglas where it flows into the river ribble just before it meets the sea,we both went when we was kids but dont remember the fishing to well just the day out ha. Could anyone help us out with some tips (keep em simple we confuse easily) we have basic tackle and a small budget, last time i remember going we used a ledger stopped with a small weight just above from the hook and thats it,simple but remember catching snig and flatties on it. Could anyone suggest any other simple ways including weather you can float fish there and the easiest way to do it(we like fishing with a float) also if we do ledger we just used a washing up liquid top on the line just above the reel pulled down on the line as an indicator (the top goes up means we gotta bite) but sure there just be a more sensitive and better way to do this. Also what kinda bait we should use where gonna take with us maggots, sweetcorn, bread, luncheon meat, good old garden worms, prawns, and some mackerel if we can find any (got most of these suggestions from another thread for beech fishing but hoping theyll work here) also what kinda fish other than flatties and snig are we likely to find as im thinking if its where the river meets the sea we should get a mixture of saltwater and freshwater (probably wrong but im slow) a list of fish ere would be great. This is where we are going if it helps (as soon as we get some decent weather) http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?gl=...01929&t=h&z=16 thanks in advance fellas. |
