Exclamation Milford On Sea / Keyhaven

Need some help with choosing everything for this kind of beach new to it, Wondering what type of baits hooks weights to use around there?, Will be fishing tomorow overnight so any information would help, P.S Not bothered about the type of fish i catch not going for a specific type but i would like to know what's in season and what they go for, Many thanks - Bob

Re: Milford On Sea / Keyhaven

the tides are a bit on the big side for fishing Milford - especially the bank !
If you fish by the white houses you can expect a slightly longer session but the weed is a nightmare at the minute and its almost imposible to fish on the flood tide ....
dogfish, pout, small pollack and maybe black bream plus the slim chance of a ray after dark..
If its still flat calm and the moon huge its gonna be even worse as the fish stay offshore .
Try rag for the chance of a variety of species and sandeel/mackerel for the small eyed and spotted rays or the odd small turbot ..
I know its all a bit doom and gloom but its not looking good this week unless the weather puts some chop on the sea and even then you will struggle more with the rafts of weed ..

I'm not sure where in Hampshire you are and why you chose Milford but there are better options if you want more help to find a fish or two .. sadly i'm working Saturday but looking to get out early next week on a 'normal' size tide .
Steve

Barton might be a better bet mate. theres a few rays coming from the cliffs as well as some schoolie bass ..
Mudeford will be weeded like snoop doggs house during a party
next weeks smaller tides might see me come down to Milford ( even if it's just to go to the chippy ) and try for a ray
