Can someone advise me on the best Beach and Rock Fishing Spots along the South Coast? Hi ya, My friend and I are planning a weekend fishing trip somewhere along the South coast. We would like to fish from the shore(beach, rock and pier) and hope someone may have some suggestions on the best but also nicest spots. We plan to take a tent but dont want a camp site. And as we're coming by train we will need to have access to national rail and a tackle shop but dont care if we have to hike a fare ways. Hope someone can help us with suggestions. Thanks in advance for taking time. Cheers, Dave. Last edited by davecane69; 04-10-2011 at 08:53 PM. Reason: Trying to work out the way the forum works.

Re: Where's best Beach and Rock Fishing Spots along the South Coast? Weymouth has a dead end railway station (so you cant get off of the wrong station). Two tackle shops in the town. Then make your way to renowned Chesil Beach, via bus, taxi, or walking. Follow Chesil beach to Portland, head to Portland bill, for some of the best rock fishing in the south (IMO). British record shore caught Wrasse caught there... Just an option...

Re: Where's best Beach and Rock Fishing Spots along the South Coast? I totally agree with DB+DB, Weymouth and Portland have it all. Beach, pier and rock fishing. You would have a huge variety of fish to target, from your humble mackerel to Trigger fish. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk
