Feather / spinning marks on the N. Devon coast Hi All, I've booked a couple of holidays in Bideford and Woolacombe this summer and would love to try a bit of feathering / spinning with the young 'ens we'll be taking with us. Can any one advise on some accessible marks in/around these areas? Ideally targetting mackies on feathesr so at least the kids gets to see some action. Thanks in advance. __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad.

Re: Feather / spinning marks on the N. Devon coast Plenty of places to spin around Appledore Westward Ho and all the way to Clovelly. Fremington Quay also for bass. Take care there are BIG tides and quicksand

Re: Feather / spinning marks on the N. Devon coast Not sure how to answer your question but will give it a go. The beach from Westward Ho is completely covered at high water and probably not the safest place to take youngsters fishing. The estuary end has quicksands. The Clovelly to W Ho stretch is large stones beaches and rock marks and involves some walking. The estuary is varied with mud being most common. Downstream of Fremmington quay there are a couple of humps which might be the place to take the kids spinning. The tides reach 7 meters and the coast is very exposed so be carefull. Sommerlands tackle shop helpfull and good bait. Bubble float and sandeel probably the best method. If I am up that way when you are down I would be happy to show you a few marks
