Re: north east cod

Church Point at Newbiggin has been fishing REALLY well mate, lots of fish in the 7 - 15lb.+ range..

also...

Blyth Pier chucked a 17 pounder and 22 pounder out on Sunday night! (thats the West pier, by the way)

Cambois 'back hole', has been producing on the bigger tides too...

Nearer you, Hartlepool Red Light and London Rock has been consistent all winter with fish well into double figures common...

...its just a case of 'keep yer ears open', and read the local match reports etc in the press, usually (?) a good indication of what's hot and what's not!

Hope this helps, and good luck mate..oh and welcome to the forum, look forward to hearing how you got on..

hi richie, im also new to this forum,so your not the 1 whos a bit uneasy, just been out for a couple of hours at st marys(whitley bay) nowt really doin! couple of small fish, they should be in the kelp by now so my advice is to head to the rock marks with big smelly baits especially if its flat calm and a big tide so u get plenty of movement in the kelp,i know its a bit of a hike but seaton sluice fishes really well in these conditions, especially crag point!if u r interested drop me a line, will try and sort u out with exact marks and locations.hope this helps.
pete.
