easy access hi to you all, although i am quite an experienced angler, i have recently become disabled(lost leg above knee) i still fish, but can't walk very far although hard sand and piers are ok, i find it impossible to walk on soft sand and shingle..... there are a good few beaches and piers in my area that i can fish (i know of the areas between mumbles to ogmore) and thats where you "forumers" come in.... would you please reply with any easy access beaches that i can fish, and any piers that you don't have to be a member of? please state whether or not piers are wood as i can't go on wet wooden piers. any area please as we do travel arond a bit. thank you all in advance, john silver.

Re: easy access Hi John, The ones that come to mind are Loughor estuary by the boat house, and Swansea west pier. Both have a car park close and concrete paths. Hope it helps. Steve

Re: easy access wasn't being funny scottish, although i still do have my sence of humor. wood when wet becomes unbelievably slippery for amputees, that means all decking areas and some piers!!!

| Re: easy access Welcome to the forum John ....... Here`s a couple of spots that might be useful for you to try..... Penarth Pier ,might be good for you in the dry ,easy access with parking close by ,it is wooden decking tho ,also the slipway (in the foreground of the photo) at the opposite end of the esplanade has easy access and you can fish off the concrete slip. ![]() Cardiff barrage is another good one ,easy parking closeby ,and flat concrete surface ... ![]() __________________ Mike.. | Re: easy access mumbles pier....wood planking and then steps down onto a concrete fishing platform. Knab rock mumbles....its a big car park good in the evenings for whiting dabs, doggies and some good bass also come off there. you can fish from your car!! swansea west pier...concrete you can either fish into the harbour entrance or out onto swansea bay...bits pieces, good mackeral mark in summer porthcawl pier...concrete again...can be some good rays in summer along with doggies, smoothhound, bass and flatties. Pendine...shallow sand beach really good for flatties but pick a small tide as it does come in quick. cefn sidan...exactly the same as pendine. just off the top of my head if i think of anymore i'll add them john __________________ 2012 targets - 180 yard measured cast, 10lb bull huss, 12lb blonde, 10lb hound, 8lb small eyed, spotted ray any size |

Re: easy access Looking at your area you have loads of spots that way, knab rock concrete high tide mark with the god send of raillings and benches, mumbles peier is ok when it hasnt been raining, swansea west pier (concrete) also inside swansea marina altough it has concrete walls it is a swine to stand up on after or during rain (PM me if you want to know why thats mentioned), porthcawl pier can be a good fishing spot, but you will need good balance (I don't) as for beaches cefn sidan and pendine can be good to walk on __________________ 20 years of marine biology can't be wrong but apparently it is
