Beach casting

I went on my first sea fishing trip last week an absolutely loved it. I'm thinking of doing some beach fishing, an wondered if anyone new where the best place in North Wales to do this? What equipment/rigs do you suggest?

Many thanks.

Re: Beach casting

Right ok thanks Nick, how would you fish those places? just a running ledger, with ragworm, squid or mackerel for bait? What size hooks, ledger weight would you use? Sorry totally new to sea/beach fishing.

Re: Beach casting

I'm planning a weekend of shore fishing, we haven't decided on where to go yet though. Can you tell me the best places to shore fish in Colwyn Bay and Anglesea for example? I'm thinking there going to be the best two places (for the fishing and nice places to stop overnight), I still plan to try Rhyl but I don't fancy stopping overnight there.

Re: Beach casting

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. Sounds like it's gonna be Anglesea then. Where stopping at a B & B.

Would you use the same rigs you suggested for fising at Rhyl?

- 3 Hook Flapper Rig (size 2 hook)

Bass:
- Pennel Rig (5/0 hook, 2/0 pennel hook)
