| Hi All I'm a new member of the forum and this is my first plea for help - I have fished before but still consider myself a novice. I am supposed to fish Dover Breakwater at the end of November (if it is open - if not probably the Prince of Wales) can anyone give me advice on baits, rigs and where to fish - in or outside and what is the best distance to cast (I can't chuck it really far) |

| Re: Fishing Dover (novice) Rigs depend what your after catching, a pulley pennel if your after cod, with 6/0 and 4/0 hooks with whole squid and lug or a big slice of bluey with lug, but you can go with a 3 hook flapper with 2/0 hooks which will catch you just about any fish in the sea, lug or blacks tipped with a small piece of squid or fish bait on the flapper, as for distance not really neccesary on a pier or breakwater, myself when im on th breakwater i use 2 rods, one with a pulley and one with a flapper, the pulley i will launch hard out to sea the flapper closer in, if ya need any help or advise message me If fishing the breakwater, when you get of the boat try and go to the knuckle out there, and fish the outer wall, if its the prince of wales, go to the furthest shelter, and fish there as it will give protection if it rains __________________ https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/122835604396392/ Proud supporters of the RNLI Dover Lifeboat http://www.dover-lifeboat.org.uk/index.php |
