pacific oysters?

the shores of southampton water are crawling with pacific oysters (hamble and netley in particular) at the moment. has anybody tried using these for cod or any other fish? if so what results have you had? as these are an invasive species i know there is no limit to how many you can collect.

More importantly, what do they taste like with a squeeze of lemon juice & a splash of tobasco?.....

im not sure many fish will get to try them as not many carry a knife to get them open

Any shell fish would do. I prefer prawn

Possibly they may be a good bait after a blow (same as some other shell fish) when the shells have been broken on rocks bottom etc

just collected a bucket full of the fookers but fear the claw hammer is gonna have to come out to play

was supposed to be digging but ended up collecting a bag of mussels - all of them contained a tiny wee crab that must be feasting on the inside plus a million limpets.. i just hope the fish appreciate me grafting !

good luck with trying to put them on a hook mate, if they are there for the fish to eat like the numerous mussels washed up along our shores then I don't see why not, when you going you lucky fella, hoping to go to tidemills Saturday night weather permitting!
