| Re: Hurst Castle Thank you Richard for selecting a superb location for a forum meet. It was great not having to worry about losing the rods whilst standing in a group chatting. ![]() For me as a relative newcomer to the forum it was nice to put some faces to the names. What a nice group. Thanks for the wine. Thanks Pingu for the pies and thanks to all present for a pleasant day. __________________ Fruit? - That's what keeps me going. |

| Re: Hurst Castle I'm no longer a virgin. So anyone who is a bit hesitant about going to a meet just do it. It is a laugh and you meet some good blokes with a common interest who want to have a bit of fun and possibly catch the odd fish. Richard managed the only fish a rockling as I was walking away about 6pm. Good for him. So the good news is the Forum did not blank, just most of it. It looked like the whole area had no fish in it. I spoke to several local guys on their way back to the cars who had been fishing the very end by the castle which they said was usually a certainty, and only two fish had been caught a weever fish and another that the bloke coud not identify but was only two inches long. So if it is any consolation we did nothing wrong, tried every combination of bait rig and distance, but if the fish aint there you can't catch em. Meeting every one and sharing in our combined missery was still good fun, and is highly recommended. I will be going to some more meets and am building my Brownie points up to try for the Pevensey Bay one 26th February, better for me on a Saturday. __________________ The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom.
