| Braid Or Mono Hello i'm new to this site and quite new to beachcasting with about 20 fishing trips under my belt. My dilemma is should I stay with mono (which i've always used, sea, river - lake) or should I switch to braid. I like the idea of better bite detection with braid also the greater casting distance, but worry about using different knonts - hook pulls and overruns. I'm using a 13ft Daiwa Vulcan X rod with a 525 Mag reel - Cheers ![]() |

| Re: Braid Or Mono Welcome to the fishing forum Looking forward to your posts I would stick with mono - beach casting / multiplier and 5oz lead __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

| Re: Braid Or Mono Hi Tiny, Welcome to the forum. I would stick to Mono for Beachcasting and Uptiding, Braid for Downtiding. Cheers |

| Re: Braid Or Mono Sorry to disagree with others but im a dyed in the wool braid user and use 4oz with 50lb braid, better bite detection and less reistance to the tide, but more costly |
